Meet Paige Colvin, our Office Manager, Brand Manager, Rental Specialist + Event Producer! Aka a jack of all trades. :)
What inspired you to enter the wedding industry?
My parent’s marriage, honestly! Their love (after 30 years) has made me love love even more. And after my first wedding as an intern, many moons ago, I was hooked on watching every love story come to life in one beautiful day.
What intrigued you about WDE? Why did you want to work for us?!
I first met Kelsey working as an assistant at the venue she used to manage. We started talking about her planning company, Simply Elegant Events, and how she was wanting to expand in the upcoming year. Fast forward to January 2019 to my first day working with Kels at what I thought was Simply Elegant Events only to find out she had partnered with another planner in the area, Jessica Smith Weddings, to create White Dahlia Events! They asked me if I was still interested in working for this new start up company, and I said OF COURSE!!
Now, I’ve been with them for almost two years and it blows me away, every day, to see how far we’ve come from those first few weeks around the kitchen table brainstorming all the ways to bring their dreams to life!
What would you change about the wedding + event industry?
I would love to see more diversity! During my time working in Chicago I got to experience so many different cultures and truly loved it but definitely see a lack of diversity in the industry here.
List three things you would never show up without on wedding day:
Iced coffee, yes year round!
A structured timeline - I am a stickler for things being on time.
My phone / camera - always ready to capture some of the moments!
What hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I am really big on taking time for self-care. Throughout quarantine I found myself expanding my skincare routine and I have really loved exploring companies that focus on providing clean + cruelty free products! Twice a week I give myself mini at-home facials, highly recommended. :)
On my days off you’ll find me……
Enjoying boat days on Lake Michigan, lounging by the pool reading a book (currently reading Act Like a Lady by The LadyGang) or lazing around the house binge watching New Girl on Netflix.
